I decided to take this challenge to celebrate my good health at the age of 60 and to raise money for charity. 

I completed the ride of 975 miles in two weeks (12 days cycling). It was quite an adventure, riding through floods and gales and I had to average 80 miles a day.... so I had to work at it. Fight for Sight is funding research into genetic therapy that can cure certain types of blindness. One of these is Choroderemia which caused my father's blindness and already affects two of my nephews: they could benefit from the recent advances and we can channel the money directly to the leading research team.
