My story

Hello!

FROM ROUND THE BEND TO ROUND THE WORLD!!

On 1st April 2010, Rog and Dee are setting off on their bicycles for their Round the World Trip. Many of you have asked if we are doing this for Charity and we've given this a lot of thought and decided to make Guide Dogs for the Blind, our chosen charity.   We recognise the freedom and full mobility we have, which is crucial in the trip we are planning, but we also recognise that this isn't the case for everyone.

Blind and partially-sighted people are unable to enjoy the same amount of mobility as everyone else is.  A Guide Dog can revolutionise their lives, give them more confidence and allow them to become more independent and live life to the full.

£15 Could help pay for puppies to be inoculated

£30 Could help pay for a guide dog mum's check up when pregnant

£40 Could help pay the vet's bills if a guide dog mum is sick

£50 Could help towards guide dog puppies' training

£100 Could go towards valuable research in our ongoing breeding programme

It would be fabulous if you, our family and friends,  could make a donation, which will help to change someone's life and will give you the opportunity to wish us Bon Voyage, on our Trip of a Lifetime.

With many thanks and much love

Rog and Dee

Charity Registration No. in England and Wales 209617 and Scotland SC038979

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of blind and partially sighted people never leave home alone. Guide Dogs empowers visually impaired people to do that and relies totally on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service. We breed and train guide dogs which provide life changing mobility and there are currently 4,500 working guide dog partnerships in the UK. The full lifetime cost of a guide dog from birth to retirement is £48,500. We will not rest until blind and partially sighted people can enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.
