Story
Great North Run half-marathon 5th October 2008 7 years ago I was told I had breast cancer - I felt fit and well so it came as a huge shock.
I had surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. So far, i have managed to remain clear of further problems.
This year I am hoping to finish in 2 hours 20 mins
This time last year my brother David was going through Chemotherapy. He suddenly became ill just before Christmas 2006 and needed extensive surgery to remove a tumour so small that they weren't even sure exactly where it was. He struggled to recover after each session of chemo and his strength was further sapped by infection. My lovely big brother suddenly seemed so fragile. I hugged him very gently. His illness lasted just over a year until he was taken from us just after Christmas 2007. He had a brilliant mind with so much still to give this world. Always humble, gentle and caring. Always there - Always my big brother.
I am so proud of him
I can't believe he is gone
I miss him so much
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and a special thank you to those of you who feel able to sponsor me.
This year I run in David's memory. Also in memory of my mum and my mate Sue who both had cancer and died all too young.
