Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In October 2010 Katherine and her husband James are going to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, which at 5896 metres (19,344 feet) is the tallest free standing mountain in the World. Katherine is doing this to raise money for Age Concern Oxfordshire, whilst James is doing this to raise money for South Chiltern Explorer Scouts. By donating on this site you are kindly supporting Age Concern Oxfordshire – James has his own page for South Chiltern Explorer Scouts (www.justgiving.com/southchilternexplorerscouts).

Katherine has worked for Age Concern Oxfordshire for 6 years as Organiser at Bluebells Day Centre in Henley-on-Thames and also Flexible Care Co-ordinator in the South of the County. Both of these services provide support to older adults with Mental Health needs, as well as providing a much needed break for their carers.

Age Concern Oxfordshire City and County is a great charity with over 40 years of experience dedicated to promoting the well-being of older people throughout the county of Oxfordshire, and helping to make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience (For more information please visit: http://www.ageconcernoxon.org.uk).

We are both enjoying our training and also organising the fundraising activities that we have planned in the build up to our challenge. We are very grateful for your kind support in helping us to reach the fundraising targets for our two charities.
