I have volunteered to fly out to South Africa in September as part of a community challenge team for Habitat for Humanity.

The Mzitki project aims to provide 385 houses for families in desperate need. I will be spending a week working side by side with local people to help with the construction of these homes.

The new homeowners who are all on low income and currently live in poverty housing have invested many hours of hard labour in building houses for themselves and their neighbours which they buy at cost with an interest free loan.

The beauty of the scheme is that the new homeowners pay for their home and the repayments go into a rebuilding fund for more housing.

I have committed to raise a £1,000 for this cause and would be very grateful if you could please help me reach this goal.
