Well, we did it. 44 people, 3 days and 100 miles.

It was a lot of fun and occasionally a lot of hard work. We saw some amazing sights but, more importantly, we have raised (and continue to raise) a lot of money for the charities. I believe as a group we are approaching the £200,000 mark!!

As always I am incredibly grateful to those of you who have helped me play my small part in that. For the rest of you it is not too late! This website will stay active until the end of February. So check out the photos on my Facebook page and dig deep!

Thanks,

Alan.

I've decided to participate in a charity bike ride in support of two extremely worthy causes.

The first, Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, helps enrich the lives of people less fortunate than you or I through music. This is especially meaningful to me as I've spent my entire adult life in the music industry and believe me, that can make even the best of us a little cynical! It's good to be reminded that music is about much more than business, that it is emotive and even therapeutic. Find out about the important work Nordoff-Robbins do at http://www.nordoff-robbins.org.uk/musicTherapy/aboutNordoff-Robbins/index.html

The second is Childline. If you grew up in the UK you know all about them and the help they offer kids of all ages. For those of you who didn't click on this link http://www.childline.org.uk/pages/about.aspx  Any money I raise will be collected by Nordoff-Robbins and split evenly between the two charities.

This is the first time I've tried to raise money for charity in this way and I'm really not sure what to expect. I hesitated for a while about asking my friends and family to part with their hard earned cash in such economically uncertain times, but it's in times like these charities need our help more than ever. You should know that I am covering the cost of the trip myself so 100% of any money you donate is going to the charities. Hopefully you can take the time to make a small contribution.

And hopefully there will be someone else to help me with the repairs this time!

Best,

Alan
