Story
Unfortunately my father passed away from terminal cancer last November, and in his memory I will be taking on the London Marathon and raising money for Willen Hospice. Although my fathers illness came to a very abrupt end, I know of someone else who was looked after at Willen Hospice and the great work that they do.
A massive thank you to everyone who sponsored me. I somehow managed to complete the London Marathon in 4 and a half gruelling hours. I happily passed Jade Goody at the 2 mile mark and was just behind the somewhat unfortunate TV presenter and ex tennis ace Andrew Castle when he collapsed with just a mile to go.
I was greeted warmly at the finish by my mascots for the day (see enclosed picture).
Once again thanks for all your valuable support and comments of wisdom!
Aleck.
(Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Willen Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you).
