Story
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me on the marathon. It is all now over. I did it in 4 hours 21 which wasnt at all bad - although not quite as good as I had over optimistically predicted a few weeks ago!
It was the most amazing experience. Of course the weather was perfect - great weather for spectators and not too hot for the runners. It seemed like every community we visited on the way round was keen to entertain us - there were bands, choirs, bell ringers, churches - catholic and pentecostal all with their distinctive singing - girl guides, boys brigade, scouts, St Johns Ambulance and rows and rows of people offering water jelly babies and all sorts of support.
I was told before the race to write my name on my teeshirt - but nothing could have prepared me for the endless shouts of "come on Alex!" all the way round - there seemed to be rows and rows of pretty girls shouting this which did me no end of good. It was the most fabulous entertainment you could imagine.
The last six miles were difficult but no encounter with the famous "wall" and today I still feel on an endorphine high.
Thank you so much for all your support and prayers - they got me round and achieved the fundraising target as well - THANK YOU SO MUCH
Alex

I was running for Treloar Trust which is the Allen & Overy Alumni Charity of the Year. Please do support them as they do a huge amount of good work for disabled children.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Treloar Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
