Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At 7 months my cousin was diagnosed with Mucopolysaccharide (MPS) disorder (or hurlers’ syndrome) – a rare genetic, metabolic disorder in children. Due to a malfunction of enzymes, carbohydrates build up in the bones, joints, organs and brain, ultimately affecting appearance, mobility, mental development and organ function. As of yet there is no cure and treatment is limited to palliative care. There is potential for a cure in enzyme and stem cell therapy, however these are still costly and require a lot of research funding.
So I’ve decided to take part in the Great Warwick Jump (charity skydive) to raise money for the MPS Society in the UK, which funds leading research and provides support to families affected by the disease.
