Story
Keep up to date with the project at
A simple idea, cycle from the most northerly point on the British Isles (Muckle Flugga on the Shetland Isles) to the most southerly point (St Clements Bay on Jersey). While including the most northerly and southerly points on the UK Mainland (Dunnet Head and Lizard Point respectively). And just to make it easy, because I am like that, I flung in John O'Groats to Lands End in the middle as well. As the caption says, One Bike, One Rider 1,600 Miles!
So why am I doing it? Trying to raise money and give something back to the Friends of the Beatsons.
They are a charity based in the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow and as most of you guys will already know, we have unfortunately had to call on the services of the Beatson recently.
In all the time we have been dealing with this, the guys at the Beatson Institute and the Friends of the Beatsons have been exceptional. They are a wonderful group of people who are trying to make a real difference to the lives of those affected by Cancer. They offer services and help for the simplest of things that you wouldn't even realise are a problem until you have to face them, and I am glad that we have had them there to help us.
But the Friends of the Beatsons are a charity and they rely on donations to keep them going, and to keep providing an exceptional service to people during the most difficult times of their lives.
They are also a charity based in the West of Scotland and are there to help those of us who live in the West of Scotland. I hope none of you ever need to use their services, but I sincerely hope that should you ever need them, then they are here to help you.
So Please, if you could see your way to sponsor me and help support this extremely valuable local charity then donate below and make a difference.
Thanks
Allan ;)
