Tearfund is a Christian charity working in 50 countries where conflict, climate disaster and injustice push millions of people into extreme poverty. We equip and enable people to take control of their own lives, so they can build the future they want for themselves and their community.

Story

Hi. Thanks for visiting one of my fundraising pages.

So I did it!! In 1hr 47min which I was very chuffed with. But I could definately do better.... so have signed up for another one on the 4th July in London. This time a 'challenge' distance which means 800m swim (in a lake), 30k bike (on road this time) and 7.5k run.

This site stays open for another 3 months so just after the next one... so that must be worth a few quid eh?

I've chosen 2 charities, this one is a Christian charity which is working to overcome global poverty by tackling 5 areas: HIV; challenging injustice; tackling disasters; climate change & water, sanitation and basic services.

I'm also supporting a local Sheffield charity called ASSIST which provides practical and financial support to destitute asylum seekers in the city. Check out www.justgiving.com/allyhobbssheffield if you prefer to give to that one.... Or why not split your donation between the two?
