We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Tanya Cooper, Aaron Brown and I are first year students living in Leeds, United Kingdom.

In February 2011 we are taking up the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro (5895m), the largest freestanding mountain in the world and the highest mountain in Africa. We are doing this for fundraising of the Alzheimer’s Society; we selected this charity because my Dad of 56 lives with Alzheimer’s disease.

All proceeds go to the Alzheimer’s Society which supports the ongoing research into this disease, which currently affects 465,000 people in the UK alone, as well as supporting patients and families that are confronted everyday with this cruel disease. Climbing this mountain is going to be a massive challenge both mentally and physically.

We would greatly appreciate a donation and support to this great cause.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
