Story
Yes we are mad! This year we are putting ourselves to the test and running 26.2 miles…..we are taking part in the London Marathon in memory of our wonderful Dad. For one of us (Tim) this will be my second attempt and this year I plan to finish the run in 3 hours 30 minutes.
In April last year our Dad was diagnosed with Cancer of the spine, stomach lining, pelvic bones and liver, sadly only 10 days later on the 13th April at only 61 he passed away. Bizarrely enough this was also the same day as the 2008 London Marathon.
A very close friend of ours also lost her Granddad last year after a long battle with Cancer, her mum has recently had skin cancer and her uncle is currently in remission.
All of the above makes this challenge even more worthwhile. This awful disease has affected so many people, not just by losing loved ones but also seeing how the money raised through events like this can help people into remission and pro long their life.
Please dig as deep as you can, all donations however big or small really will make a difference.
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page and we hope to see you all cheering us on at the end!!
