In October this year I am moving to to do a one year volunteer placement working with Task Brasil, www.taskbrasil.org.uk and would ask if you would be interested in sponsoring me. The £2,100 I aim to raise goes directly to supporting Task Brasil Trust projects in Rio de Janeiro and covers my accommodation costs at the shelter. The work is unpaid and I will be financing myself separately to this throughout the year

Task Brasil is a registered charity, which was set up in order to improve the lives and support the needs of children living on the streets of Rio de Janeiro . Poverty and violence forces children on to the streets.

The charity’s main aims are:
· To provide the children with clean accommodation, comfort, care and affection.
· To ensure access to medical, orthodontic and psychological care facilities.
· Train the children with useful skills, and follow through with state run education.
· Encourage the reintegration of children with their own families wherever possible.

· Help increase public awareness and change of attitudes of street children
