Story
In a moment of weakness, I agreed to compete in this year's London Triathon. Disappointingly my entry was accepted and of course I can't back down now!
Just to make sure I DO complete the challenge, I'm raising funds for a charity very close to my girlfriend's heart - the Lymphoma Association. Please look for the Periwinkle logo to the left of this page to find out more about what they do.
I've set an ambitious target for my fundraising, because this is quite a challenge, and if I'm going to do it, I want you all to appreciate the effort I'm making by digging deep!
The event is what's known as an Olympic Triathlon, which starts with a 1500m swim in Albert Dock, in a wet suit fighting for space amongst countless other competitors trying very hard not to drown.
Immediately this ordeal is over, I jump on a bike and cycle for 40km (about 26 miles) and if that's not enough, hop (or fall) off the bike and run for a further 10km!
Mad? You're not wrong! My target time is 2hrs 45mins, but I'd be happy just to finish alive to be honest!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Lymphoma Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
