Story

Myself and my good friend Stuart are off on a mad rally around Europe - all in aid of two charities which are close to our hearts.

I am raising money for Norfolk and Waveney Mind charity in loving memory of my Daughter, Catherine. Mind do incredible work in Norfolk, helping people of all walks of life with their mental health. The last few years have been tough on everyone and charities like Mind have become increasingly important - especially for our family. We tragically lost Catherine to suicide in August 2020. Norfolk and Waveney mind supported Catherine while she was struggling with her mental health, and subsequently have helped us with grieving her loss. As a local charity to my family and I, Norfolk and Waveney Mind will really be able to put this money to good use and help more people in Norfolk.

Here’s a short itinerary of our trip - wish us luck with the hairpin bends!!

The Motoscape Rally's first criteria was to buy a car for less that £500 which I have managed to do by getting an Audi A4 Avant.

Day 1- On 3rd September the adventure starts when we have to be at St Omar which is 45 minutes from Calais by 1pm.

Day 2 - Following hopefully a good nights sleep we will be off bright and early heading for Koblenz in Germany, with a stop off at the Nurburgring.

Day 3 - We are heading for Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the German Alps with a stop at Motorworld in Stuttgart.

Day 4 - Is a mega alpine pass day ending in Rovereto near Lake Garda in Italy with the chance of taking a trip around the 60 hairpin bends of the Stelvio pass.

Day 5 - Today we should finish up in Venice with a visit to St Marks Square.

Day 6 - The drive today sees us heading through the Triglav national park  in Slovenia via the Vrsic pass which is the highest mountain pass in Slovenia with 48 hairpin bends to Salzburg in Austria.

Day 7 - Today is the final leg to Prague which apparently has cheap food and quality beer - result!!

Now there is the long journey home which will have hopefully raised a good sum of money for Mind.

The car, fuel, insurance and all entry fees and accommodation is all paid for by myself so every penny raised goes to Mind.
