Been to the minor injuries unit - nothing broken, just pretty bad ligament damage. Anyone got any morphine for race day??

*** Major update! - wrecked my ankle at footy on saturday - resting it but it's not looking good! Fingers crossed please people! ***

********** Thanks to everyone who's donated so far to reach my £200 target!. I had no idea you'd reach it so quickly so as added incentive I've upped my target to £400 now ;-) Thanks again to everyone **********

Having never run in any sort of race before I thought a nice easy 13 miles round sunny, flat Sheffield might be a good start - yeah right!

'Why?' I hear you ask, well...

In August last year my girlfriend (Hel Reynolds) lost her dad (Peter) to leukaemia.

Peter lived with myelodysplastic syndrome (known as 'pre-leukaemia') for 6 years before it developed into full leukaemia. Having being diagnosed with leukaemia in May and given 6 months to live, he passed away in August.

So I'm raising money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research to help the charity stop blood cancers from affecting more families.

About the charity...

Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

- Anyone, at any age, can be diagnosed with a blood cancer

- Blood cancers are the main cause of cancer death in under 35s

- 24,500 people are diagnosed with a cancer of the blood every year in the uk

- Leukaemia is the most common form of cancer in children in the UK

Survival rates are increasing, treatments are improving but they spend more than £20,000,000 on research every year.

It's for a really worthwhile cause, so please dig deep and donate now.

I'll try to keep this updated with how my training is going and what sort of time I'm looking at running it in.

Many Thanks

Andy
