The Challenge: Tough Guy: Aim = Completion
We have entered ourselves in the most extreme race known to man (or one of them). This race is so dangerous every competitor has to sign a death warrant. The race consists of 8 miles running though swamps, mud, hills & lakes then you hit the obstacles where you have to run thorough fire, barbed wire, glass, electrocuting fences and much more. On average one person dies per year and there are over 50 broken bones. Our training regime is just as intense, we go find the biggest steepest hills we can find & spend our time crawling up it. Anne cannot swim so I have been practicing my swimming survival with her in the lakes and swamps near us in an attempt to get her through this dangerous part of the course where drowning could be an issue. Our other option is to flutter our eyelids and get a big hunky man to carry us on his shoulders across the swamps. We literally may not come out of this race alive so instead of buying flowers for our funeral please spend that money in advance and sponsor us for this event.
The Cause: Douglas House: Aim = Raise Money
Douglas House is a hospice that gives respite for young adults and their families that are terminally ill. It gives them round the clock care whilst giving them a great holiday where they do things from going clubbing to getting their nails painted. Not only do the patients have a great time but so do the families. Our friend Catriona Lovell goes to this hospice and she and her family always come back raving about what a great time they had. The hospice is voluntary aided so please help us raise money for this awesome cause!
