Trek Transylvania - 26 to 31 August 2008

Ok, it's a generally well known fact that I (Annette) already work for the fabulous LandAid (and that I love the word fabulous!).  I've decided that in order to encourage others to take on similar challenges and raise money for LandAid, then I really ought to get off my butt and get out there and do it myself!

So on that note I am off to spend 8 hours a day trekking the Transylvanian Alps, where apparently  - "Tradition still guides people's lives and nature is wild"  - a bit like South London then.....   Anyhow, I get to sleep with the locals (not literally), explore The King's Rock National Park - home to the Carpathian Large Carnivore Project (protecting wolves, lynx and bears) and pop into Count Dracula's impressive 14th Century castle for a cup of char (fully aware that I am at the bottom of the food chain in both those areas!!)
