Story

"Anthony's Date with Destiny (A La Francaise!)"

In September my brother Graham and I will be trying to cycle the 300 miles from London to Paris. Since, at 54, my furthest ride to date has been to the local village, I am in for months of training, 4 days of very serious discomfort and no doubt eventually a very sore backside.

What makes this act of reckless masochism worthwhile is the wonderful work of The Foundation for Conductive Education where I am proud to Chair the Trustees. Every day they perform little miracles which transform the lives of the children and adults they treat.

They urgently need your support. The Foundation for Conductive Education receives no direct Government funding and relies for half of its small annual income on generous people like you, giving through fundraising activities like this. Although our services come at a cost, their results are literally priceless. One mother put it this way, "It is as if Conductive Education has taken away what felt like a burden for life and given me a daughter". Another 22 year old wheelchair using young lady told me, "I want Conductive Education to help me fulfil my life's ambition - to be able to walk down the aisle".

Conductive Education literally transforms the lives of disabled people who cannot do many of the things we take for granted. So please help our work by making a donation or by sponsoring my epic cycle ride.

If you would like to sponsor me it is easy. You can do this either on line via this web page or by cheque/credit card direct, by downloading this form and sending it to the Foundation with your donation. If you are a UK taxpayer, why not use Gift Aid? This means an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Just remember to tick the box on the form.

So please, for a wonderful cause give all you can - I certainly will!
