Story
ARAMARK 5 Peaks Challenge 2008
ARAMARK UK has never been one to shy away from a challenge - especially if it's all in a good cause.
Over the past four years, teams from throughout the Company have undertaken several physical challenges including the "3 Peaks", The Isle of Wight Coastal Path and "24 Peaks in the Lake District" each completed within 24 hours and in 2007 ran the length of Hadrians Wall and cycled back the other way , again in the same time. The picture above shows the team setting off for the cycle ride on day two.
And the reason for this madness? To raise funds for ARAMARK's nominated charities and so far we've raised in excess of £120,000!!
For 2008 ARAMARK is pleased to be supporting the Childline amongst several of a number of nominated charities
So, you might be thinking, what will ARAMARK do this year to outdo all of these?
Well, we racked our brains and came up with ..
ARAMARK 5 Peaks Challenge 2008
In June 2008 a 12 -strong group with a support team of 8 , will attempt to climb the five highest mountains in the UK and Ireland- non stop - IN UNDER 48 HOURS!!
The team comprises 'athletes' from many departments including Purchasing, Finance, Legal,Offshore and ARAMARK Ireland. Their ranks will be reinforced by Andrew Main, our Chief Executive, who joined the Challenge last year for the first time and has agreed to be part of the team again this year. .
