Snowdon Charity Challenge
Fundraising for Regain - The Trust For Sports Tetraplegics
On Saturday 12th June, we will be entering two teams to take part in the 2010 Snowdon Charity Challenge. The members of the team are Lisa Wells, Jenny Powley, Ra Hennessy, Fiona Hall, Brian Flood, Chris Davies, Danny Clenaghan and Julian Brand.
This challenge consists of a 40 mile bike ride around the base of , a 7 mile trek up and down the summit of the mountain, and a canoe ride thrown in for good measure. We are taking on this gruelling challenge on behalf of the charity, Regain. Our target is to raise £2,000 per team, a total of £4,000 in total. Regain is a registered charity helping people who are Tetraplegic due to sporting injuries. Tetraplegia is the result of a severe spinal cord injury which affects both sensation and mobility because messages to the brain have become interrupted leaving someone paralysed. Many accidents that result in tetraplegia occur during participation in sports like rugby, cycling, horse riding, swimming and diving. Many of those paralysed are young people at the start of their lives. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor us. The Regain gets your money faster and, if you're a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Many thanks Lisa, Jenny, Ra, Fiona, Brian, Chris, Danny and Julian (Arval Team A and Arval Team 1)* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
