YOU CAN STILL DONATE ON THIS PAGE, TO SAY "WELCOME" TO GIOVANNI JOSEPH OR JUST TO SUPPORT CHILDLINE! THANKS :-D

All books are closed for the name game. Our baby's name is Giovanni Joseph Berra.

Giovanni is after his great grandfather, who was the first Berra to be born away from Europe, after his parents immigrated to the USA from Italy. Joseph is the middle name of his father and grandfather.

Joint winners are Yogi's Aunt Tricia and his Grandma for their guesses, which were the closest! Champagne will be forthcoming :-)

Thanks so much to everyone for their generous support. This webpage will remain open for another few weeks, in case anyone would like to make a donation and didn't already get a chance to do so.

I couldn't run the London Marathon for ChildLine with my Reuters colleagues back in April, due to my baby bump, so I'll try and raise the same amount of money as each of them this way!

£1,800 from me would allow ChildLine to answer 600 calls, which is actually not much since they get 4,500 calls from children needing help across the UK every day... But add this to the £100,000 our busy team at Reuters has already raised and we are hoping to make a difference for this worthy cause! Now I have a child of my own, I'm all the more determined to make sure that if he or any child needs help, this excellent support system is in place for them.

Thanks for your support!

Bex

ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC
