Breaking News.... Due to a couple of dropouts and some last minute events to raise money we've managed to drop the target to £27,000 and have raised the full amount - Anything else donated now is a bonus - but very much appreciated... thanks to everyone for their support xxx

 

Going back to Zambia 2009

In 2007 a group of intrepid volunteers joined a fundraising trip arranged by Demelza House to go to  Zambia.  This trip was different to some of the other charity treks in that we weren't just going for a walk or a cycle - we went out to build a playground for the children at Jon Hospice in Lusaka.  So not only did Demelza benefit from the money raised (they got over £70,000 in 2007) but we left a lasting legacy for the children in Lusaka too.

This year Demelza is arranging a return trip to Zambia again with another community project - this time for a local school near Lusaka where we will be building a classroom and decorating other parts of the school.  Of the 25 people going 11 of us decided to get together and arrange some bigger events and raise money as a group which makes our combined total target £33000 - we've had great sucess with the events so far : parties, waxing evenings, triathlons, parachute jumps, 3 peaks challenge and many others - but we've still got a bit to go to get to our total so all donations still appreciated.
