Raising Funds for Ward 10, St. James Hospital, Leeds
Three friends, Guy Mundy, Tim Downing and Gavin Sykes are committed to raising a 'substantial ' amount of money for Ward 10, the paediatric and adolescent oncology and haematology unit at St. James Hospital, Leeds in the name of Zack Hagan.
Zack is the son of another friend of theirs who was unfortunately diagnosed with bone cancer in September 2006. If you are in a position to help make a difference please do so by sponsoring them.
St. James Hospital, Leeds
The Leeds regional paediatric and adolescent oncology and haematology unit is one of the specialist centres treating children and young people with cancer within the UK. It takes on average over 100 new oncology and 75 new haematology patients each year. Children and adolescents are referred to the unit suffering from all types of paediatric malignancy, leukaemia and solid tumours including brain tumours. The unit is actively involved in a wide range of clinical trials of treatment and is at the forefront of developments in paedriatic oncology. The ward also carries out high dose chemotherapy procedures with rescue by peripheral stem cells and is involved in related and unrelated bone marrow transplants.
