BALLS TO CANCER IN PERU 2007...!
If there's one thing sure to scare the pants off anyone, no matter how ballsy they are, its cancer.
Help me say balls to cancer with everyman by sponsoring me to complete the challenge of a lifetime.... The Peru Trek 2007
I have been lucky enough not to experience physically first hand the affects of cancer, but it is very likely that you, like me, have known or shared an experience of cancer,
Testicular and Prostate cancer affects us all in some way - physically or mentally, men and women, Awareness of male cancers is so low, that coupled with our asolute uselessness at discussing health matters, one man an hour dies from these diseases.
The number of cases are also increasing, and we don't know why. They are young killers, mainly affecting the 15-45 year olds and have now replaced lung cancer as the UK's most common cancer in men.
If, like me, you think the facts above are unacceptable, then help me say "balls to cancer" by raising money for Everyman and The Institute of Cancer Research to make a difference.
I am taking on the challenge of a lifetime. A 10 day mountain trek through Peru, walking rough terrain for up to 9 hours a day at altitudes of apx 4400m.
Anybody who's taken a tumble when skiing will know the challenges of exercise at altitude. Everything becomes 300% more difficult, and walking those 5metres back up to your ski's seems harder than a whole day on the slopes. Imagine walking those 5 metres over and over for 9 hours a day... for 10 days... That is the challenge of a lifetime that is the Peru Trek, and is what I am determined to overcome in order to raise awareness and funds for Everyman.
