Story
Dear Friends and Family, Thank you so so very much for all your support and enthusiasm over the past 5 months of training for this London Royal Parks Half Marathon. You've helped me raise an incredible amount of sponsorship money for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and our whole team together has raised almost £6000 and still counting!
The race took place last Sunday in glorious indian summer weather on a route taking in London's famous landmarks and of course the Royal Parks. There were 12,500 runners. It was an inspiring experience and the cheering crowds were awesome.
I had trained to run the 21km in under 2 hours and ideally sub 1h40. In the end, I came in at 1h44 which I'm still delighted with given the sheer amount of runners and the heat on the day. Only slightly miffed that Ben beat me by 48 seconds!!
So thank you again to everyone who sponsored me and the team (Ben, Laura James, Joe Brent), and showed patient, polite interest in my boring training accounts, injuries and race talk over the months. If you haven't sponsored any of us yet, IT IS NOT TOO LATE! You can still donate up to November 5th.
A thousand thank you's,
Barbara x
