Abbey to Barcelona by banger for GOSH
Fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity
Story
On 21st May 2009, an intrepid quartet of Abbey employees will be driving a 20 year old banger across Europe in the vain hope it will actually make it, all in the name of fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital charity.
Would you risk buying a 20 year old car from ebay and driving it across Europe ? No? ........ Well, thats what we are doing. we have bought an old Mercedes from ebay, we are going to prepare it for its journey by painting it to look like a Mclaren Formula 1 car, and then driving it across Europe in 4 days. Its all legal and part of an event called "Bangers to Barcelona". www.barcelonabangers.co.uk
All costs for the trip will be funded by the four individuals (including transport, fuel, hotels etc); so all money donated through sponsorship will go straight to GOSH charity.
If you want us to look silly, upset the French and worry the Spanish or just hope we end up pushing it....... then please sponsor us now!
