Story
It is hard to believe that it is nearly 12 Months since I last ran the Shenstone fun run in order to raise money for the One Foundation. This time last Year I was just a couple of Months away from my life changing trip to South Africa where I went with a team of work colleagues and virtually rebuilt a School.
That experience will stay with me for ever and I want to continue to support the fantastic work done by the One Foundation who supply Water pumps in the most remote parts of Africa.
Running water is something we take for granted, but the installation of a pump in other parts of the world radically changes lives. The picture above shows the children sitting on the roundabout (which acts as the pump). This enables the children to have a full day at Schhool, gain an education, and work to get themselves out of the poverty trap.
I know times are hard here in the Uk but remember poverty to us just means we have to save a little harder for the latest i pod!!! Your personal destiny can often be mapped simply by where you are born, the children of Africa do not choose poverty, they inherit it!!
