Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi, I'm back again for 2010 and this time the challenge is even harder than before.  For those of you who sponsored my trip across Vietnam and Cambodia to raise money for Leukemia Care last year, I thank you all very much.  I raised just under £7500 and that money has been put to some really good causes.

The reason for doing another challenge is due to the fact that John, my “step father” very sadly passed away in April last year and left a big void in many people's lives.  None more so than my mum Linda's.

My mum and I discussed raising some money for the local hospice that cared for John in the last few months of his life and so I have decided to ride a bike from Lands End to John O'Groats in April 2010 to raise much needed cash for this wonderful hospice.

The loving care and incredible attention and affection that St Helena hospice gave John in the latter days of his life was wonderful and I would like to show my appreciation by raising this money for them.

The Challenge is to ride over 1050 miles from the very bottom of England (Lands End) to the very tip of Scotland (John O Groats).  I will be cycling unaided across the ever changing English Welsh and Scottish countryside, approximately 75 miles per day.

I have planned this trip over 14 days and will be riding solo with nothing other than my kit and my thoughts.  All of the accommodation is booked and the training is going well.  All I hope for now is the British weather is kind to me in April!

Please give generously to this cause and thanks you very much.

Regards

Barry Sales
