We deliver HIV education through football to create lasting change for young Africans

Story

On 7th of August 2010 Paul 'the Bear' Peters, Matthew 'Chief' Wagstaff, Martin Cooper, Chris 'Latvian' Young, Jon Saunders, Tom 'Tomo' Meadowcroft, Matteo 'Alfonso' Ferrara and Matthew 'Muzza' Murray shall be united as one as Bear's Flairs to enter the 9th Annual Football Marathon to raise funds for Tackle Africa.

This is no ordinary tournament! We shall be playing 6 aside football for 12 hours, during which time our team shall be playing 4 games straight then 1 game rest, four games straight then 1 game rest continually for the 12 hours. It is estimated that at last years tournament, each player ran an average of 35km throughout the day, which for those of you who don't know, could well be the end of half our our team!!!

As I'm sure you are aware, a football match lasts 90 minutes. In this time the average UK employee will earn £17. With £17 Tackle Africa can educate 100 children about HIV/AIDs.

We all know that economically times are hard but when you hear something like that, it really puts things into perspective. If you agree that it is crazy that millions of people are dying every year, just because they did not have the education to prevent themselves contracting HIV, please sponsor us. If you can afford to give what you earn in 90 minutes that is fantastic, if not any donation you can give will be greatly appreciated by the whole team and by Tackle Africa.

Please give generously,

Bear's Flairs
