Burghfield Box Kart Bash · 24 July 2018 ·

Thames Valley Air Ambulance is the only provider of advanced critical care within Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Every day, someone in our community could be in urgent need of our service.

Story

Months have been spent crafting a 1/3 scale Dukes of Hazzard Dodge Charger fit to grace the big hill boxkart challenge at Burghfield on Sunday 24th June.....this year Bo and Luke Duke will be attempting to set a new UK speed record for unpowered vehicles, whilst testing the limits of Paul's welding and and a myriad of components bought off the internet from china's cheapest suppliers.

We hope liberal applications of WD40 will give us the kind of warp speed Chevy Chase enjoyed whilst sleding in Christmas Vacation, plus everybody knows the kind of jumps possible by the Dukes in their charger from Saturday night television.

On a more serious note we are fundraising for Thames Valley Air Ambulance which is a critical local service, many dont realise its a service thats 100% reliant on donations and recieves zero central funding - so its a very worthwhile cause.

**With thanks to main sponsor Teescroft Electrical, Brian Bird Driving Instructor, Pratley’s Steel and PA Welding for their support.
