I am running the Big Fun Run in Leeds on August the 14th - I am really looking forward to it, I did it last year in a reasonable time and this year am looking to raise some money for a Fantastic charity.

MacMillan is a charity that helps a lot of sufferers with Cancer, through some of the most difficult times, whether it be help with financial applications or just a shoulder to cry on.

Without trying to get all soppy and stuff on you, the reason I chose MacMillan is one of the few memories I have of when I was told I had tumours the day before my first A-Level exam - I remember walking out of the hospital and seeing a big green stall with someone who obviously cared - I was lucky, I had a family who quite literally bent of backwards to help me - along with a set of Friends who will never know how much I appreciate their help.

But, I am one of the lucky ones, I only needed radiotherapy and the effects (in comparison to others on chemotherapy) were minimal.

We're always told that 1 in 3 of us will be affected by Cancer, which means 1 in 3 of us need a helpful arm around us.

MacMillan are that support system for those who don't have one, or need a little bit more - their work is incredible and if you can reward that effort with just a few pounds I will be eternally greatful.
