Event: JDRF - Cycle London to Paris 2009, on 3 July 2009

Story

Last year, my colleague and friend, Andy Eglin, sadly died from hyperglycaemia due to type 1 diabetes.

In Andy's memory, we decided to choose Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) as one of the charities that Quintessentially Foundation supports in 2009.

On July 3rd, I will set off on a 300km cycle challenge from London to Paris to help raise money and awareness for JDRF. The money I raise will go to fund vital diabetes research.  JDRF is the leading charitable organisation in the world with the primary objective of finding a cure for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes and its complications, which currently affects 350,000 people in the UK, of which 20,000 are children.

I would be most grateful if you would support me on this journey and help JDRF find a cure for type 1 diabetes so that we can help all those young people who have to live with this illness everyday of their lives.

I would also like to thank people for their generosity in helping me raise as much money for this great charity as possible. In particular Sir David Tang for an incredible donation of £1,000 but to everyone - thank you! It means a lot.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure and please don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box if you are a UK taxpayer - the government will increase your donation by 28%!

Thank you so much for your support.

Love,

Ben
