Firstly, I think it would be great for you if you knew a little bit about where your money was going.

A few facts about the disease;

-In the UK alone, 35,000 men are annually diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, making this the most common cancer affecting men here. 

-Around 10,200 men die from the disease every year.

-The rate of Prostate Cancer diagnosis has tripled in the last 30 years, partly due to increased awareness and screening processes.

-The symptoms of Prostate Cancer are various, causing erectile dysfunction, pain in the back and lower abdomen and urinary problems.

-Although very dangerous if left untreated, around 70% of men now diagnosed with fast developing Prostate cancer survive the disease, and can rebuild their lives with help from charities like this one.

The Prostate Cancer charity plays a vital role in funding research into the disease, being the UK's leading voluntary organisation working with people affected by Prostate Cancer. The support given by the charity through it's unique Helpline (staffed by specially trained Nurses) to victims of this disease is unparalleled, helping families through what is a very difficult time. 

97% of the charities income is from donations by members of the public. The government provides only very minimal funding, which makes it all the more important that together we do all that we can to help.

This is why I have pledged to raise money for such an important charity, and I can only do it with your help. Every donation is hugely appreciated and I ask you to give as much as you feel you can!

I pledge to train my hardest and run my best in this event, aiming for a time under two hours. I will keep updating this page with info on how it's all going!
