Inspired and led by Savills Lending Solutions, a team of 40 runners from across the mortgage industry will be competing in the 2008 BerlinMarathon for what promises to be a gigantic charity fund raising event for Macmillan Cancer Support. Our companies (SLS snd OFM) will be sending a team of 7 enthusiastic athletes as representatives of our organisations. Collectively, we hope to raise £6000 towards our whole team target of £150,000

The Berlin Marathon will provide the mortgage industry with a unique opportunity for key industry personnel to join together for the benefit of this most worthy of causes. Starting at the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Marathon attracts a field of more than 40, 000 athletes and a million spectators. It was here where Kenyan Paul Tergat set the world’s best ever marathon time in 2003.

Our chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, improves the lives of people affected by cancer. It provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support. They are a force for change: listening to people affected by cancer and working together for better cancer care. The stark reality is that one in three of us will get cancer and 1.2 million of us are living with it. In short, we are all affected by cancer and we can all help.
