Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running this years Cardiff Half Marathon on October 17th to raise funds for Bliss, the special care baby charity which provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies across the UK, as well as their families - a charity which is very important to myself and Carrie as parents to two beautiful twin girls, Betsy & Scarlett born 14 weeks early last year.

Betsy was 1lb 6oz and Scarlett 2lb 4oz. The girls spent an eventful 14 weeks in the Neonatal wards of both Newport & Cardiff during which time they had heart surgery and eye surgery between them. We both feel that we owe the girls lives to the nurses & doctors who looked after them at both wards and also to Bliss, the charity that does so much to raise awareness and provide support to these units and the children and parents who find themselves there.

The girls both have chronic lung disease which will hopefully improve over the coming years, but other than that they are currently doing very well, crawling, chatting, and performing a whole range of animal impressions. I will be running by way of a thank you to all those involved in their lives from birth until now, and also in memory of some of the babies and the families we met who haven't been as lucky as us in the hope that we can raise some funding to carry on the great support provided by Bliss and awareness of the amazing commitment and work done by the neonatal units across the UK.

I have attached some pics of the girls during their first weeks, and of them now as they approach 15 months (1 year corrected) so you can see the progress they have made and why everyday we count ourselves very lucky.
