I'm going to run the Great West Run for another year - I did register for the London marathon but missed out on a place :-( - if I didn't learn how unfit I was last year... this year is going to be special..

Last Year I ran for The Prostate Cancer Charity - although not known to a lot of people my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was treated and had a serious operation and it went very well and recovered well. Although he didn't receive any direct help from the charity I wanted to help people who were in the same situation and were not so lucky.

This year, I want to raise money for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). A good friend of mine from school Scott Rennie passed away last year from a sudden undiagnosed heart condition. Scott was an amazing rower from a young age at Kings School Worcester (to many was known as big ren), and progressed far more than I could have imagined. He passed away after a training session at Molesey Boat Club in london.

C.R.Y. provides support for bereaved families, ECG screenings for people between the age of 14 and 35, and research into sudden cardiac deaths.

Please can you spare any money that you have - I hope to raise around £750 this year - which considering I have done little to no training, watching me hobble for the week after the race will be worth it.. I do intend to beat my time of 2 hours and 3 minutes though!
