My brother, Christopher Bird, died of a rare brain tumour 17 years ago in 1993 at the young age of 25 years with so much to live for.

Since his death I have always had an ambition to raise money for Brain Tumour Research charity but never got round to it.

When recovering from a broken leg last year, it gave me plenty of time to think about how lucky we are and now my leg is fully recovered it has given me the push to finally put my arse into gear and fulfil my ambition.

The Yourkshire 3 Peaks challenge is a 26 mile trek and we have set a target to complete it in under 12 hours. We will be taking the challenge on the 12 June 2010.
