Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To follow up on my blind day last year. This year I am doing a blind scuba dive to raise money for guide dogs.
If any of you have ever dived you will realise how hard this will be as I cant commuicate by voice and I need to know from my gages how deep I am, how long I have been diving and most importantly how much air I have left. I will be working with my dive buddy to create touch communication so she can tell me the information I need.
For safety I will have a strap wrapped around my buddies tank for me to keep hold of at all times and my blindfold wil be on top of my dive mask so it can be removed at any time. Both myself and my buddy are experienced divers.
So why am I doing this? Guide Dogs Charity makes a big difference in thousands of lives across the country. Their is no government funding so they rely completely on donations from the public. It costs around £50,000 to breed, train and support a guide dog throughout its working life. The guide dogs are not suitable for everyone and their are currently 180,000 blind and partially sighted people that rarely leave their home. Guide dogs are commited to change this.
Any money at all will be greatly appreciated for this great cause.
So please dig deep and donate now.
