WoooooooHoooooo...........

We have just been given a donation from Parkstone Rotary Club for £50 so now we have exceeded our £1,000 target!!!! =:-D YAY!!! and we've  been told that there are still more donations to come :-)

Thank you all you very generous people <3 :-) x x x

Our sponsorship page remains open for donations until the end of this month (30th September 2010). Please forward our details to everyone you know - it is for a very good cause and we think that the photo links  alone (at the bottom of our page) are worth a donation for the entertainment value (and we still have the DVDs to post) =:-D x x x

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page <3 :-)

We are two crazy, bouncy-haired blondes willing to throw ourselves out of a plane to raise money for the Wessex Autistic Society's Portfield School. (Kim's son Ben is a student there).

WE HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR OUR OWN SKYDIVING EXPERIENCE SO ALL FUNDS DONATED WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE WESSEX AUTISTIC SOCIETY'S PORTFIELD SCHOOL.

We have upgraded our skydive to the max - 15,000ft (double the freefall and double the screams!!! =:-o). This will take place on Friday 10th September 2010.

Kim is absolutely terrified of heights (she won't go on the London Eye or even stand under the Eiffel Tower!!!) so her only excuses are that she is stupid, blonde, loves her son Ben very much and is extremely grateful to The Wessex Autistic Society's Portfield school for playing such an amazing role in his personal development and education.

Abby is just plain crazy! She is also blonde and a self-confessed adrenaline junkie.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please make a donation to our cause and remember that any amount is greatly appreciated (every single penny counts and will all add up).

Thank you so very much for your support

Lots of love Kim and Abby <3 :-) x x x

An update: We are close to our sponsorship target and we now hope to pass it. Dr Paul Wilkin aka Geek (Kim's husband), from The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew has pledged to name a newly discovered plant species after the person that makes the highest donation on our sponsorship page.

This has now been awarded to David Spasojevic - thank you David for your very generous donation and your support.

Please sponsor us and post our link onto your Facebook walls and emails for all your friends, families and work colleagues to see.
Many thanks for your support
Love Kim and Abby :-) x x x

£106 is the top donation so far.
Come on peeps I bet you would pay more for a star that you can't even see to be named after you!!! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, it will involve a hell of a lot of work (maybe months) from the Geek
for this species to reach it's publication and your name will live on forever! How much are you prepared to pay for immortality? !!!

Anyone hanging out to try and make the highest donation for the plant species name please note: Multiple donations can be added together so long as each amount is made by the same donor.

In reply to a recent question from David Spasojevic on our Facebook page:

Yes, you can choose the name so long as it is acceptable for scientific publication and hasn't been used before.
It also has to include the Genus and be Latinised
ie. Dracaena spasojeviciana - (That's a dragon tree).
Take a look at the photos in our album
and you can see my named species (I had to ask very nicely for 5 whole years before I was allowed one!!!) Dioscorea kimiae (Kim's Yam).
It has to be scientifically written up, botanical artwork drawn and then published!!
It's a bargain for all of the Geek hours involved!!!
No, Fat Patrick is not a suitable name David, but I am sure we could find a Latin way around saying the same thing. Geek doesn't like to put rude names or descriptions on his beautiful plants) :-) x x x

David, The family have finished donating as far as I know - but why should they be capped? :-S
They don't have any other way of getting a new plant species named after them - they aren't given out like sweets you know!
So far I am the only family that Geek has
named a species after. He has also named one after George Buckley a very kind and generous man that has dedicated his entire life to helping children with special needs.
Now take a look at his publication and see just how much work is involved:

George's species is the second one described on this link:

AFTER CAMPING OUT IN A COLD DAMP FIELD FOR 2 NIGHTS WAITING FOR THE SKIES TO CLEAR (we refused to come home and rebook for a later date) WE DID OUR JUMP AND........

IT WAS TRULY AWESOME!!!!!!!

<3 =:-D

WE THEN DRANK LOTS OF CHAMPAGNE AND HAD TO CAMP OUT FOR ANOTHER NIGHT BECAUSE WE NEEDED TO COME DOWN FROM THE HUGE ADRENALINE RUSH (we were still way up there in the clouds =:-D) - IT JUST WASN'T SAFE TO DRIVE HOME IN THAT CONDITION.

IT'LL BE GOOD TO BE IN OUR OWN COMFY, DRY, WARM, BEDS TONIGHT AND SLEEP.

PS Abby snores like a wart-hog!!!! =:-o

We will post our photos later this evening. (DVDs will also arrive in the next 21 days).
