ITS A FREE EVENT - WE RAISE MONEY FOR CHARITY THROUGH DONATIONS

Last year we raised £20,000 for local charities.  This year, we are being more ambitious and we are targeting £25,000.  We need your help to do this!

We have been so touched by the way in which we have been able to help those not so fortunate as ourselves in recent months.

Dyslexia Action contacted us about a local 15yr old boy who, unable to read and write, would soon be looking for employment without these skills.  Our funds enabled him to receive 1 to 1 literacy sessions.

On the other end of the age spectrum is a lovely partially sighted lady, who is 97 years old.  Our funds purchased a large computer screen that has enabled her to type some inspiring words about her wealth of life experiences.

These sort of people often get overlooked by the larger charities.  We try, in our own small way, to fill a few gaps and really make a big difference to a few genuinely deserving people.

Every £250 we raise enables us to consider a separate "Cash for Causes" donation, where we target individuals with a specific need.  Our aim is to make a big difference with well targeted financial assistance. Our "Cash for Causes" campaign in conjunction with the Hampshire Chronicle has been a great success in this regard.  If you would like to make a larger donation, (£250 or more) so that we can make a specific donation to a specific individual requiring assistance, please do get in touch.  You can donate anonomously, or a Cash for Causes award by us can be made in your name, or in memory of a loved one.  Please remember that small donations really can make a big difference.

We also continue to support local groups that focus on helping young people develop into caring, supportive people who achieve as much as they can.  Our funds help organisations like Winchester Air Training core purchase tents to enable expeditions.  We will also be providing funds for the Sea Cadets to get back out on the water and we have helped a number of pre schools groups and primary schools purchase equipment.

Other better known causes that we continue to support locally include:-

MOUNTBATTEN HOSPICE

BOAS PROJECT

BLUE APPLE THEATRE

RELATE

AGE CONCERN

THE BIG SLEEP OUT

Your Donations are Important.  Please give generously and help us help more and more local people, whilst keeping the fantastic fireworks display free for our local community.
