We are working as a two man team made up of Robert Day and myself Tom Blanden, travelling the length of the River Thames, we will be canoeing not swimming, but on a boat made by ourselves, from Plastic Bottles.

This 150 mile journey is in aid of FAB - Families' Activity Breaks in partnership with YHA. This fund raising page is for FAB, who provide fun and challenging activity holidays around the UK for bereaved military families.

Both Rob and myself have ties to the Military, as we both served together at RAF Brize Norton. We both believe it is important to get youngsters involved with sporting actitivities, and with the work FAB do putting on camps, with YHA raising money is important for their work.

On the 14th of July, at 10am we will be setting off from Lechlade to continue our journey down the most highly known river in the United Kingdom. We started from the Thames Head by walking the 24 miles earlier this Spring.

About the charity

We are YHA. We transform young lives through travel and real adventure. Because where you go changes who you become. We believe every child deserves the same chance to discover, explore and grow. Together we can turn isolation into exploration, adversity into adventure and fear into freedom.
