Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

We are a group of friends from Barclays Stockbrokers who are raising money for charity by climbing 8 Munro's over the summer months. We are a crazy group as most of us walk as far as the bus and back and are tired.  Despite this we are excited and honoured to take part in this challenge to raise money for a worthy cause.

St Andrew's Hospice, based in Lanarkshire, offers care for terminally ill patients.  It also provides day care services, home care services and also counselling to both patients and relatives.  On top of this St Andrew's also train nurses to a degree level.

Five of the team visited the hospice on Monday 8th June.  We found that they need to raise £45,000 from funding every week to keep the centre going.  It was clear from our visit that they want to offer the best care possible to patients, families and nurses.  We hope £10,000 (£5,000 target matched £for£ by Barclays) raised from our challenge will help them continue with this wonderful service.

We are two Munro's down - Ben Lomond and Ben Lawers.  Ben Lomond was a very hot day.  Most climbers got a nice tan to go with the stunning view.  Ben Lawers wasn't as hot but was quite windy and cold.  It was a tough climb but 'just for fun' we did Ben Glas and some of the team did An Stuc on the same day too.
