Four friends, four days, four countries and 1400 miles in one forlorn £150 banger. Painted like a bee.

Jeanette, Phil, Dave and Neil are taking part in this year's Staples2Naples cross-Europe banger rally in September.

In a 1989 BMW 520i (which only has minor damage from rear-ending a police car) we'll be catching a ferry to Calais, from where we'll travel through France, Switzerland and across the Alps to the finish in Italy. But before all that we've had to get the car rally-ready to survive the trek. Oh, and paint it black and yellow to transform it into the Bumble Beemer.
