Something I can imagine not many would expect to see BUT the whole of the Burton family (apart from Karen) and our friend Janine Connor  have signed up to take part in the 2009 Bupa Great North Run.

Anyway the most important part is that we've all decided to run the 13.1 mile race for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, so our sole aim is to raise as much money as possible for this worthy charity with a bit of light family competition thrown in for good measure.

The Society funds MS research, runs respite care centres, provides grants (financial assistance), education and training on MS. It produces numerous publications on MS and runs a freephone specialist helpline.

On a final note we would like to dedicate the money we raise to the memory of a dear family friend Les, who sadly lost his battle with MS earlier this year. I am sure Les will be there to cheer us all on and raise a beer or two at the end.
