Story

Thank you for visiting Great Lakes Outreach's fundraising page.

Every gift makes a huge difference to the least, the lost and the last in Burundi, the sixth poorest country in the world, so please dig deep. Over half the population are below the poverty line and struggling to survive.

Great Lakes Outreach (GLO) is a UK-registered charity founded by Simon Guillebaud in 2003 in response to the spiritual, social and physical needs of this little known area in Central Africa.  GLO partners with ten dynamic initiatives led by local people to see real lasting social transformation, tackling issues from street children to AIDS, inter-faith dialogue, persecuted Christians, sustainable farming, leadership, education and evangelism; working with these partners to facilitate their long-term impact and self sufficiency.

Your donation gives Simon and Great Lakes Outreach partners the ability to meet needs as they arise. Thank you for taking the time to donate and for your generosity.

"Urakoze cane!" (Thank you very much in Kirundi).

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor the work: Great Lakes Outreach can get the money to those in most need quickly and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 25% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

About the charity

GLO is a movement of strategic ministries pioneering the transformation of Burundi, one of the hungriest nations in the world. Our partners work in education, sport, business, healthcare and more. Your gift will bring life, peace and hope to thousands of the most vulnerable. Thank you!
