Story
Thank you for visiting this fundraising page.
To mark the 20th anniversary of CRIMESTOPPERS, Capgemini is challenging the Police Service to a sailing rally around the Isle of Wight. Forces have been encouraged to raise as much money as possible for CRIMESTOPPERS through sponsorship of their crew.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary has entered a team into the Capgemini Sailing Challenge, with a mixed crew of both experienced and novice sailors. The crew of 6 will all be challenged in one way or another by the event. Sailing round the Isle of Wight is much further and more complex than sailing across the Channel, which is only 22 miles; round the island is over 50 miles, round lots of corners, and with difficult and tricky tidal and wind conditions. The crew will all be working hard to meet the challenge of getting round, and if possible being the first boat across the finish line, but more importantly the crew are looking to help from all our supporters in meeting the biggest challenge of all, which is to raise as much money as possible for CRIMESTOPPERS.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary have been working in partnership with CRIMESTOPPERS since 1988, together dedicated to helping solve crimes and take criminals off the streets across the county of Cambridgeshire, including the cities of Cambridge and Peterborough and surrounding areas.
Every penny raised will go to the charity – Capgemini is funding the event. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: CRIMESTOPPERS will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
