Story
The Rugby Portobello Trust has supported the North Kensington community since 1884, helping the most vulnerable children and young people to overcome disadvantage and reach their potential. Through arts, sport, music, mentoring, skills building, trips and more, we help raise aspirations and increase opportunities.
RPT has helped me to build character and has taught me about qualities that apply to life in general. RPT is unique; it's like a family'. Danny, 12, from Football Academy
Our services run 6 days per week, up to 10 hours per day, for 45 weeks a year. In the last 12 months, we supported more than 1,300 children, young people and isolated mums.
Our programmes are free to ensure we're supporting the most at-risk children and young people. We are more than 85% funded by the community through donations and fundraising events. Our events account for 50% of our fundraised income, and all of our 2020 events have been postponed, downsized or cancelled due to Covid-19, leaving us with a deficit of £200,000.
Sometimes it's hard being a teenager; people forget that. But the team at [RPT] get it. They've supported me through some really tough times when people just didn't get me. When I don't have anyone to talk to, I know I can go to RPT and they'll listen. It's like a second home for me.' Jenna, 16, from Youth Club
We're redesigning our programmes to make the most of the resources we do have, but we need your support to ensure we're able to continue our programmes and our support for the most vulnerable young people in our community.
We are grateful for donations of all sizes.
