Rock Your Socks for Mencap this March
Rock your Socks for Mencap this March to raise awareness and vital funds to support people with a learning disability across the UK.
Downs syndrome is just one of many different types of learning disability. Most people have two copies of chromosome 21, while those with three copies of chromosome 21 have Downs syndrome. When you look very closely chromosomes are shaped like little socks. This is why Mencap celebrates World Downs Syndrome Day on 21/03 each year and encourages people to Rock Your Socks in March.
World Downs Syndrome Day is an inclusive day for everyone and is a chance for us all to celebrate and support people with Downs syndrome and people with other learning disabilities. At Mencap we want everyone with a learning disability to have the chance to lead a happy and healthy life. With your help we can continue to provide the essential support needed to achieve this.
